KBMO intestinal barrier panel
Intestinal barrier integrity is a key factor for optimal health! Recognizing that increased intestinal permeability occurs across a broad spectrum, KBMODiagnostics has developed a unique intestinal barrier panel that includes the following gatekeeper markers: Candida, zonulin, occludin, and lipopolysaccharide (LPS). For each marker, IgG 1-4/C3d is measured in addition to IgA 1 and 2.
Candida : Excessive exposure (dysbiosis) is considered a precursor and cause for the development of impaired barrier integrity.
Zonulin : Zonulin is a marker of intestinal permeability, also known as "leaky gut." Elevated results indicate impaired tight junction regulation. The zonulin marker measured in this test is unique and therefore not comparable to conventional zonulin measurements: https://kbmodiagnostics.com/zonulin-test
Occludin : Occludin is a marker for tight junction stability and barrier function. Elevated occludin levels indicate tight junction dysfunction.
Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) : LPS are an important structural component of the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria. Elevated antibody levels against LPS can indicate leaky gut syndrome and other inflammatory bowel diseases.
- After your order, you will receive a test kit (by mail).
- The test is based on the collection of fingertip blood. The test kit includes a lancet. You use this to puncture your finger according to the enclosed instructions. The blood is then applied to the blood card and returned to us with the enclosed, completed patient form.
